ColombiaWe are excited to announce that the Drupal Association, along with key community volunteers, has selected a designer for DrupalCon Latin America!

About a week ago, our DrupalCon Latin American selection team reached out to the community for RFP submissions. We received a number of colorful, lively and fun submissions from several regions, and had a wonderful time evaluating each proposal. Thank you to all who submitted thoughtful and exciting work.

On Tuesday, the team met to discuss the RFPs. During this process we discussed at length the designs submitted and unanimously landed on two semi-finalists.  We took the opportunity to interview both designers.

And our new designer is...Filipe Riach (feliperiach) of Bogota, Colombia! Filipe has experience working independently and on a team to produce sophisticated and unique designs, and we know his work will be a wonderful addition to DrupalCon Latin America. For those who have been following the selection process, you may be aware that Filipe is employed by the event’s fiscal sponsor SeeD. We want to make it absolutely clear that Fillipe’s selection was not influenced by this fact; the selection was unanimous on the committee and SeeD CTO Aldibier Morales recused himself from reviewing or providing input on Filipe’s entry.

Again, thank you to all who submitted design work for this project and thank you to our enthusiastic local team working hard to create a memorable DrupalCon Latin America. Stay tuned for more information soon.

Estamos muy contentos de anunciar que la Asociación Drupal, junto a voluntarios representativos de la comunidad, han seleccionado un diseñador para DrupalCon Latino America!

Hace una semana, nuestro equipo de selección de DrupalCon Latino America hizo un llamado a la comunidad para enviar propuestas. Recibimos unas propuestas coloridas, vividas y agradables desde diferentes regiones, tuvimos un tiempo muy agradable evaluando cada propuesta. Gracias a todos los que enviaron tan bien pensado y emocionante trabajo.

El Martes, el equipo se reunió para hablar acerca de los RFPs. Durante este proceso se discutieron largo y tendido los diseños enviados y se escogieron de manera unánime dos semi finalistas. De allí aprovechamos la oportunidad y entrevistamos ambos diseñadores.

Y nuestro nuevo diseñador es... Felipe Riach de Bogotá, Colombia!! Felipe tiene experiencia trabajando independientemente y como parte de un equipo para producir diseños sofisticados y únicos, y estamos seguros que su trabajo será una maravillosa adición a DrupalCon Latino América. Para aquellos que han venido siguiendo el proceso de selección, quizás han notado que Felipe es un empleado del patrocinador fiscal del evento, SeeD. Queremos hacer completamente claro que la selección de Felipe no fue influenciada por este hecho; la selección fue unánime por el comité y el CEO de SeeD, Aldibier Morales, se retiro el mismo de revisar o dar opiniones sobre la entrada de Felipe.

De nuevo, gracias a todos los que han enviado su trabajo de diseño para este proyecto y gracias a nuestro entusiasta equipo local por su duro trabajo en crear un DrupalCon Latino América memorable. Estén sintonizados por mas información muy pronto.
