Drupal Association Board Meeting: 20 August 2014

We held our most recent monthly board meeting last Wednesday, 20 August and we had a lot of news to report and a big agenda to cover. You can review the materials or check out the recording

Drupal Association Values

In my experience as an organization leader one of the most important tools in my toolbox has always been my personal values. It's been my experience that even when data points in one direction, and best practices say you should approach the problem in this way, it's always been my values that help me make the best decisions as an individual.

NERD Summit: Building Diversity in New England's Open Source Community

NERD logoSometime last year, a local Drupalist named Kelly Albrecht reached out to me. He had this idea that came out of his own personal experiences, and was further inspired by NYC Camp and Forest Mars (Forest, of course, coined the acronym NERDS).

Join the Next Drupal Association Board Meeting: 20 August

Our next board meeting is scheduled for 20 August, 2014 and in addition to our regular updates we will have a couple of great topics to discuss: DrupalCon Austin Recap and Licensing issues on Drupal.org.

Get Involved: Volunteer at OSCON and more

What do you get when you bring together thousands of diverse open source developers in Portland, Oregon? Great parties with delicious craft beer! But you also get Linux kernel hackers mingling with Docker devops engineers who are talking with PHP and Perl developers. Great minds from across the world learn from each other to make open source even better at OSCON, the annual open source conference.

Drupal.org team week notes #28

Upcoming deployments

This week we are planning to deploy a solution for multiple values for listings of current companies and organizations, a fix for wrong 'open issues' count on user project page, an upgrade Fasttoggle to 7.x-1.5, and a few smaller patches.

Referral Traffic & Your Drupal Marketplace Listing

Multicolored padlocksAbout a year ago, the Drupal Association switched Drupal.org and all of its associated properties from HTTP to HTTPS secure. We did this to better protect our users and their data, but it had the unfortunate consequence of making it much more difficult, if not impossible, to trace outbound referral traffic from Drupal.org.

Introducing Drupal.org Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Almost half a year ago, with the help of the Drupal.org Content Working Group and lawyers, the Drupal Association started working on a Drupal.org Terms of Service (ToS) and Privacy Policy. After a number of drafts and rewrites, we are now ready to introduce both documents to Drupal.org users. Read the announcement on Drupal.org for more information.
