Being involved in the DrupalCon preparation process is something like a miracle for any Drupal company. It’s a huge event that unites thousands of like-minded people.

ADCI Solutions is no exception. We were in seventh heaven when we found out we'd been honored to be a Design Partner for European DrupalCons in 2015 and 2016. We worked on the Barcelona and Dublin design projects. Even though only one of our designers was part of the projects, the whole company was inspired.

Who are ADCI Solutions?

We are ADCI Solutions, a Drupal shop located in Russia. We’ve been in web development since 2007 and won’t stop any time soon! Through the years, we’ve gathered a lot of experience in different areas and developed a great amount of Drupal projects for clients from all over the world. We really value the individual approach, try to become a better version of ourselves every day, and always put our clients first. And what’s great about Drupal’s community is that here we can find a business partner, a client, or a soulmate. There’s a great chance that you’ll also find something we can help each other with.

What does being a Design Partner mean to us?

We’ll never forget the day we got the opportunity to become a Design Partner! It was an amazing feeling, but the more exciting days were yet to come. “That was a sign of recognition for me,” shared Alexander Kuznetsov, CEO of ADCI Solutions. “I felt like me and my company were on the right track. Being involved in the Drupal Association’s DrupalCon preparation is a huge experience for us.”

Senior web designer Lera Tkacheva has been the person most involved with the DrupalCon design projects. Via email and Skype, she’s discussed each design stage’s tasks with Amanda Gonser, Lead DrupalCon Coordinator at the Drupal Association.

"Working with the Drupal Association was a pleasure for me,” Lera said. “I’m grateful to all who were involved in the process—especially Amanda, for detailed and helpful explanations and pieces of advice. Everything turned out great! It was really wonderful to learn more about such different cities, Barcelona and Dublin. And the most exciting thing of the whole process is to see all the visuals at the conference.”

Both times, the designing process started with a few meetings with the Association's representatives. We discussed future content and main design requirements. The Drupal Association provided wireframes and we started working on drafts. To begin with, we brainstormed several concepts based on the Con locations’ historical and famous features. Of course, sometimes we had to change the initial designs drastically, but that was always worth it.

After concept approval, we moved step-by-step through the design. The first thing we designed was the conference website, because it’s where the whole community gets information and brave speaker-candidates apply. The whole design process is described DrupalCon Barcelona 2015 and DrupalCon Dublin 2016 case studies on our site.

But even when the website was ready, we still had a lot of work to do. We needed to create all the other visual materials: booklets, badges, venue schemes, and so on. The one thing we want to underline is that being a DrupalCon Design Partner doesn’t mean just web design. It includes a great variety of design areas that create a full conference experience.

It’s time to give back

These two years have been incredible, and we want to thank the Drupal Association for such an opportunity! We gained a lot of experience, found out many new things, and met amazing people. We grew professionally and are ready to share what we learned.

The best way we can give it back to the Drupal community is to strengthen the brand of Drupal by providing more clients with perfectly made Drupal websites. We’re still inspired and ready to start new projects, so maybe it’s you who could become our next client or partner? Check out our portfolio and work approach. And don’t hesitate to ask us any questions you have.

Wishes for the next DrupalCon Design Partner

We’ve come a long way, full of hard work, fun, and enjoyment. It’s been a fascinating two-year journey. We want to wish the next Design Partner bravery and curiosity. It’s a great experience, so go for it with your whole heart, because you’re going to make the visuals for conferences that unite thousands worldwide! We believe you deserve that chance and will create amazing designs for European DrupalCons 2017-18!
